what transmission is best for 96 civic hx for highway driving?
Im sorry if im repeating other threads but Ive been looking around the boards for awhile and havent seen anything about it. So the deal is that I have a 96 civic hx. Not to long ago my transmission went bad and one of my honda "expert" friends got me another one for $350 not sure what its from but I hate the gearing in it! I have been reading about honda transmission and it looks like the HF would have the best gearing but Im pretty sure that since its cable and mine is hydralic I wouldnt be able to make it work. The second best seems to be putting in a vx transmission. What are my options? Would it be feasible to get custom gears or final drive in the one I have right now? Should I find an HX trans? Vx?
