If power steering pump losses keep you up at night, maybe automatic trans losses, disc brake losses, a/c losses, excessive weight losses, excessive frontal area losses, excessive internal engine friction losses, poor rolling resistance, and poor Cd losses should keep you up as well.
Might as well send that pile down the road and get a Metro.
