A TI TAS5630 (2nd generation hybrid digital chipset) costs about $7 each and provides two 300w channels, so about $14 for 4 300w channels. Then you need a power supply. One that runs from 12v would have to be custom built (not as hard as it seems), but common telecom and data center 48v supplies can be used if you have a source of 150-350v DC (hybrid or EV pack). Idle power usage should be about 2.7w per chipset plus idle usage for input signal conditioning circuits and power supply circuits. Expect about 8w total idle usage. (Dynamic supply voltage can be used to reduce that, but the power supply would be significantly more complex.)

The one you linked to is a regular digital amplifier. I don't know much about that one but most mass market amplifiers are rated under ideal, unrealistic conditions. (The TI hybrid digital I built has been tested to play at about 30w RMS per channel for a few hours into a pair of test loads without any problems. Don't expect that with any consumer grade amplifier.) Also, you'll need a digital source to use a regular digital amplifier. Not a problem if you use a car PC but very few MP3 players have digital output. (A hybrid digital amplifier, in contrast, uses Delta Sigma in order to accept analog input.)
