The header that I have really didn't affect mpg negatively, but I really couldn't see a positive affect either. It was done fo rthe simple fact of replacing the catalytic converter cheaply since i could get a "regular" cat converter cheaper.

the header flange for all SOHC D series are the same from 1988-2000

I am still trying to determine any gains between my "Whale Phallace"
intake and my OEM intake. There seems to be a very slight gain in mpg with my "Whale Phallace", but very minute.
