I'm not changing my vote, here, but check out CL - you can usually get Neon tires extremely cheap, because they're a fairly common size. If you can get a pair of tires that will last you through the winter and part of next spring, for like $50 or something close, add in $30 to mount/balance them at Wally World, so for about $80 you can have decent tires. The tune up is just a matter of some 0w30 oil, a Neon SRT-4 Filter, and some plugs.. that should cost about $50 total, no need to really buy wires if you're not experiencing arc'ing or sputtering.
So you can have your tune-up for the same price as a good pair of new tires, and probably still have enough money to get the SG2 next week.
You also may be able to get a pair of used tires from a garage for free, if you ask around. I've done this before, too.
