His engine is probably seriously overbuilt, but he had specific goals in mind, and does this daily... so he had access, first and foremost, to pretty much any part he needed.
This is a guy that used to work with companies like COMP cams back in the early days of NASCAR to develop OEM piston/cam kits that netted 18:1 compression ratios, running on leaded piss-water for fuel, and didn't detonate in the race engines.
