I didn't read the whole thread so forgive me if this was already mentioned, but are you concerned about damaging the TCC? It's not as strong as the clutch found in a manual transmission and unlocks under heavier loads simply because it wasn't designed to support them. I might try this mod for my car were it not for concern about hurting the TCC.
Also, what happens if the PCM commands a shift and the TCC is locked?
