Many thanks! It is a beautiful car, even with a car cover on. The only problem was it was mighty hard to do that first weld on the body!

I could have just gone Warp motor and Zilla controller, but going old school in an old car appealed to me. Next step is control by field rheostat and armature voltage switching -- WWI levels of technology! I won't push too hard on old school, though, if it hurts my speed goals.

The truck charger was expedient -- I didn't have time to wire up the "real" charger. Lucky me, it was a better charger! BTW, that works because I have a sepex motor, it wouldn't have worked on a series motor.

The Optima blue tops were cheap at CostCo. A nice benefit is they are perfect for a 2 inch wide metal strap across the top in the long or short direction -- they have bumps for the vents and posts that hold the strap centered.

Can't say you can get more basic than a clutch for a controller and a tow truck for a charger!

BlueTops are great batteries, as far as off-the shelf goes! I have 48V of YellowTops in my motorcycle, and the acceleration is pretty nice.
