I am doing what someone else did! hehehe. The software is largely done by Microchip. It will at least give me a really really good head start. I've even compiled it in MPLab. So I have the hex file, I'm just waiting to order the PICKIT2 or PICKIT3, and a few other things. And the software has been tested and tuned for a 1/3 HP LEESON motor. It's application note
AN908.
I don't think the control section will be very complicated as long as I'm using an integrated driver board/ power section module, which I am. hehe. They even have IGBT 6pacs that go up to 600amp. A 3 phase bridge with drivers and everything in one piece. Just add ripple capacitors. That's not the cheapest way to go, but certainly the easiest.
