Nice idea but I shudder to think of an American highway filled with them, all being driven by American truck drivers. It conjures up this mental image of trailers swinging back and forth like badminton rackets whilst little Honda Fits are being swatted about like shuttlecocks.

OTOH I would dearly love to see an American highway populated trucks emulating the Euro style. Much lower center of gravity, very efficient looking aerodynamically (compared to the current US stuff), headlight and bumper heights the same as ordinary automobiles. And, at least in my limited European experience, driven at much more sane speeds.
