You can say that again! A couple years ago me and a friend of mine took a roadtrip with my truck, a 5spd, and he'd never driven a stick before. 15 minutes in a parking lot to get the basics down and we were on the freeway. 14 hours in, he's driving while I'm sleeping. He'd shifted down to 4th to make it up an Appalachian foothill and was trying to shift up after cresting the hill. 3rd gear @ 70mph downhill and he dumps the clutch! Engine redlines and tires squeel and I'm awake now! I've never broken tire loose at that speed with turning or the brakes! Just thought you guys might enjoy the memory jazzie jogged. On a side note, he got better at the whole manual thing the next car he bought was a Jetta TDI 5 or 6 spd, I'm not sure which.
