For my car, and I suspect the majority of cars, you don't need to do this. They are designed to just "slot-in" under the moulding, no attachments required. I think they are ever-so-slightly too big, so they "wedge" themselves into place. They are super easy to remove.

I just removed my passenger side shade, so I only have one on my driver's side. That should solve all my ventilation/fogging issues.
