Imitation crab has existed for many years now. Now they're working on imitation pork...

What I'm worried about are the chemicals used in the reaction. Every chemist knows that it is impossible to ensure that all reactants are used up. And what if they mess up the proportions? Could the higher than usual amount of unreacted chemicals be harmful?
