My friend Allie Moore (an environmentalist) agrees with me that the safety of the chemicals is a big question and that it doesn't sound very green. With an organic polymer that complex, it's hard to even imagine how it could go wrong. (Just think of the difficulties in making organic polymers for OLEDs...) And I bet it takes a lot of energy to manufacture the chemicals in the first place.
