This is what I did, I went to the local glass shop and had them cut me 4 17" circles of plexiglass. I am thinking of doing my grill block that way too.
Weather Spotter, get some plexiglass circles cut to the exact size of your hub caps. In your case I guess you could just use an adhesive to keep them on. I have alloy rims, so I stuck mine on with 3M dual-lock "velcro". As long as you get the adhesive on the back bonded well, they will never come off.
