I'm just surprised that the ipm still has the isolated power supply requirement, that is the tricky part. I mean it is not short on power availability with the P/N connections, and could add a signal ground connector and have 6 signal inputs that take 5v and fire the associated IGBT upon application of 5v relative to signal ground.

Though they do go through some hoops for fault detection, etc.
