Weight reduction!!
- In city driving, where you have to start and stop very often, every kg of weight hurts fuel economy much more than on the highway. Remove any extra stuff you don't need: rear seats, spare tire (both the one in the trunk, and the one around your waist
), toolbox, etc.
- Second, switch to low rolling resistance tires if you can, or at least make sure the pressure in your tires is high. At city speeds, rolling resistance has a larger influence on fe compared to aero drag.
- Third, maybe an engine kill switch would help you by turn the engine off at red lights.
Of course, using your bike and/or mass transport whenever possible saves the most fuel...
