I understand you wanting to get an idea on prices prior to buying. We do the same thing, but it is very rare for the damage represented to be the actual problem with the car. If the problem is the inverter, I would buy it off of car-part.com and get one that has a 90 day or more warranty to protect your interest or the repaired one from Autobeyours if they have a warranty.
The warranty is almost always reflective of the sellers confidence level in the quality of the part.
