GAH! It's called a shift key...

If you are going to be sitting still for more than ~20 seconds I would say you'll be saving gas. You will have some extra wear and tear on your starter / battery. If you're not driving for ~20 minutes, I don't know that I'd bother killing / starting.

Sure in a civic / similar small car that doesn't take much to start its fine. Higher compression 5.7 V8 takes a bit of juice to turn over. If you start it to many times, you're alternator will be screaming trying to charge the battery back up, possibly negating any 'gains' from shutting it off.

All other things being constant, I'm sure killing it when you're not moving is better for MPGs.
