Your stock heatsink will be completely fine if you aren't overclocking yet. In fact, it can probably handle low to moderate overclocking just fine.

Edit:
I haven't messed with heat sinks on that socket type yet, but generally there's just a little latch or something. Quite easy to remove.

However, installing can be harder sometimes because you want to make sure you have a (very thin) coating of thermal paste on the new heatsink when you put it on. Some heatsinks come with it pre-applied, otherwise you'll want to grab some off ebay.
