Ubuntu holds your hand a little more during the install, but Mandriva is a breeze nowadays as well.
And on every system I've put it on it's had working wifi, 3d, sound, mp3, and flash video straight "out of the box," no driver updates or anything required. Which is more than I can say for Ubuntu. Or windows, for that matter.
