I wouldn't bother mixing own either, the cost to benefit of MMO is too good to match buying materials separate.
I did find "Sadly" that premium gas pays for itself in the winter since my FE gets moved up back to pre winter levels. It doesn't reduce or increase cost, a wash but I may continue doing it since the 4-8mpg drop I experienced even on my instantaneous MPG during cold weather using e10 is rather disheartening.
