perhaps the hall effect is, but it can be compensated for with some slop in the software throttle map, or with a thermistor/other circuitry if that isn't an option for you.

Also it *should* be more reliable since it doesn't rely on physical electrical contact like the wiper on a potentiometer does. But mine is off a $20 used scooter so I'm not real concerned about that

I was referring to the FET as having to be either on or off, in high power apps, just for clarification.

I did just realize that if you are converting a car, that you should think about just keeping the throttle body with the gas pedal and cable and throttle position sensor intact and just use that. The TPS I got from coyote (mid 90s metro?) is about 6k and should work nicely in many applications, and have all the travel and cable bracket issues sorted out already.
