Thanks for the detailed reply.
I have asked several car restoration places about using it and so far no one has any hand on experience. I am sure they will be watching what I do very closely !

The headliner in my car is failing and the replacement is the same cheap plastic of some sort. It not only is cheap it LOOKS cheap so a decent polar fleece , in probably a light grey or cream , should do nicely.
