I work in the aviation field. Was a mechanic for 20 years. Now I just push paper around.
I own a small laundromat and do all my own maintenance. I put those mechanic skills to use and now I have a few motels and laundromats as regular customers.
I drive a '99 Nissan Pathfinder. It's a teenager taxi and work truck. I haul a 10ft trailer about with washing machines on it usually (or lawnmower in the warm season.)
I've been wanting to convert a standard car to an electric, but with three teenagers in braces, the monies are already spoken for.
BUT, I did see a Commutacar on the side of the highway recently. It is really rundown, so it might make a good project. It will fill several criteria.
- It might be cheaper than converting a standard car.
- It will meet the criteria for range. (I drive five miles to work.)
- Provide some male bonding time with my three teenage boys.
