I used some flexible tubing that would be used for the old carb heater setup. I just disconnected the stock air hose and slipped the tubing on then routed it over the top of the engine and directed it toward the exhaust manifold.
As for the numbers, this is the first year I've had the car in winter weather so I don't have any accurate way to compare. The tubing cost about $8 so if it isn't doing any good I'm not out a bunch of $'s.
