That's rather different. I doubt that seatbelts would be much use in case of a crash, but even with seatbelts in the Cherokee, I've had turbulence bang my head against the cabin roof. Unbelted, I've no doubt that I would have been all over the cabin, which would kind of distract your attention from flying the aircraft :-)
