According to
Fuels and Chemicals - Auto Ignition Temperatures, Hydrogen has an autoignition temperature of 932degF (500degC), while the autoignition temperature of any grade of fuel oils is much, much lower.
I don't think autoignition will be too much of a problem in most diesel engines, though some can reach 1,000+* under fluid compression, I hear.
