I tried to find a way around it a couple years ago, there really isn't one that I'd ever been able to find, or that I didn't feel had worse potential consequences than it was worth.

You can't keep 'em under tarps, either. They'll lift the tarp to check for a plate.

You might be able to get away with no insurance if you have classic or antique reg's, though.
