Then you're not the only one who feels that fellow ecomodders are more than "just other people". Many of us spend lots of time on this forum. We share tech advice, but we also linger and socialize in the lounge, getting to know each other's (and revealing our own) less technical side. Everyone who comes here already has a common denominator - efficiency, eco, or something along those lines - but we seem to be able to find common interests in more dimensions.
