is this intermittent? just happen during the cold months?
i bought a 26yr old used accord, it was idled too high from the day i bought it last august.
it was consistently too high, even for the warm months.
i found two screws under the carb that allowed me to drop it to about 500rpms.
you may have a fuel injected engine, but if your idle is consistently too high, even after it has warmed-up, i;d try to find the idle screw or a chilton book to point it out.

i have noticed that on rare occasions my car may idle too high. i place my foot under the accelerator and lift the pedal to lower the rpms. this is very rare that i experience this, but i assume it's linkage.

i hope this helps.
