Take a look at how Curtis drove a similar number of mosfets using a totem pole transister drive. Your BDX53/54 are darlington transistors which will require a fairly strong drive circuit. You could use the circuit shown in the top right corner of this PDF file. Q6, Q7, and Q8 is the totem pole drive I am referring to. These are small signal TO-92 style transistors.

Also, what is the source of your PWM signal?
What are you using for your freewheel diodes?
You have plenty of reserve using the mosfets and caps that you have
chosen as long as you have good heat sinking for the mosfets.
The caps should be very low ESR as well.
