aero wheel covers?

Did anyone else watch the "Ultimate Factory--Porsche 911" show last night on the "History Channel" on TV? At the end, they drive a brand-new 911 around the roadway 'loop infront of the Porsche factory in Stuttgart and the vehicle has what looks like white "paper" wheel covers/protectors on...then, a few moments latter they show a whole truck-carrier full of vehicles, again, all with the white wheel covers on. Then, they show a vehicle blasting down a roadway, also with the white wheel covers in place.

It looks like those white wheel covers *might* make an excellent A-B-A testing device. Apparently they're "on" well enough to drive at high speed (?) at least for awhile, then be removed, and then (possibly?) re-installed.

Anybody know any Porsche dealership people who might be able to get us information about those "shipping/transportation" white wheel covers? Would be interesting to know if they're flimsy or fairly stiff...and, just *how* they're attached to the wheel rims--tape, glue, clips, etc.?

So, *how* can a Porsche 911 be considered an "eco" vehicle? Apparently by "association" (ha,ha).
