Woody Allen wrote a hilarious short story, "The ***** of Mensa" about guys who would sneak out because their wives "just didn't turn them on upstairs." It wasn't always easy to find a girl who could get into an intense discussion of Proust without faking it.

When I was the youngest kid in grade 9, we had an exam question about the distance to a lighting bolt from the time it took for the sound. I was the only one to notice that the wording had been screwed up, and the flash followed the bang. So, I had the only correct answer. I got zero anyway, and took up other interests, unbothered by marks. But no matter how much I sat at the back of the school bus with the other Cs and Ds, I never fit in there.
