That box appears to be full of THUMB size electrolytic
capacitors adding up to almost 30 FARADS of capacitance.
Apparently that stores enough energy to operate the brakes even
if you lose the 12v system. Now combine all those crushed
electrolytic GOO and all the ACID from the crushed battery, and
let it sit in a junkyard for 6 months before I bought it, and
then I just banged it all out and let it sit for another 2 years
before really getting to work on it, and AMAZINGLY there was NO
unusual rust on all that mangled metal!
