Crank position sensor perhaps.

You may have a time of it. I did a 96 to a 94 a while back. It required swapping the manifold and all the fuel injection stuff over to the newer engine.
If there are differences, pull the manifold from your car and mount it to the new(er) engine. The ECM and harness may be different. I'd save lot's of bits and pieces. Look all the electrical connectors over for differences. You may need to swap various items onto the new engine.
