i justs gott'd an f350 to pull a 14,000 lbs trailer everywhere. i won;t disconnect it. i;ll take the trailer to the grocery store, and to drive to the end of my driveway to check the mail. it;s a diesel, so i gets great mileage no matter what. like an old-school hybrid.
