Tweaking the air temp sensor will advance your timing even in the middle of your hot Texas summers which will give you more power from the fuel you use
thus reducing your fuel consumption. Your motor is still breathing that hot Texas air, it will just get more power from it. The ECU will adjust the mixture for that thinner hot air based on the signal from the O2 sensor.
