If that 92 has the th700r4 tranny, which has a 3.07 1st gear, &.70 overdrive. You could get away w/ a set of 2.56s or lower rear gears. Make sure your cooling system is working good, install a 205* t-stat. If it has 9.5'' rear drum brakes they did havve aluiminum drums on caprices. Anyway to warm it up quicker will help overall mpg.
