Corded mowers are a great idea and if someone has a large area to mow next to their house then that seems like the best use.
My house we use the Reel mower for most of it but there are spotty areas in the front where we are required to mow, between the street and sidewalk, around the trees, 200 feet from the outdoor outlet, going thru a window would be the next option, a 100 foot cord would be needed for that as there are shrubs.
Anyway, my point for this thread was that there are a handful of people who are making electric cars, motorcycles, bicycles, the motor needed for a mower is going to be between what you need for a motorcycle and a bicycle, but with a bicycle you want a short compact motor most often, motorcycle you normally want more power, there are a few people playing with tread mill motors 120v motors that sound like they are universal motors so they can run off a/c or d/c now that seems ideal! put a few 36v dewalt lithium batteries on there to get the voltage up there, then put a switch on to switch between the battery bank and the cord, mow the large areas with the cord, then do the remote trimming with the battery pack.
