Just read through this, quite a journey.
The rear tensioner on the swingarm is "opening" the chain, if it would work the other way it helps the rolling resistance... The pull out mode can cause the chain links to climb on the rear sprocket adding drag. Also most of the dirt bikes use a wheel for a tensioner. You also need WAY less tension to keep the chain under control.
Have you ever looked at a Vapor dash for bikes, Not too expensive and they have various sensor attachments and alarms for the sensors.
I had a friend build another electric gadget, to cool it we stripped the motor and brazed rings around the housing, it was enough to keep it cool longer. The rings were cut out of 16 gauge copper sheet.
Keep it going I know your within a fingers reach of the goal.
