Not so new to the forums

Howdy! I've actually been hypermiling for the past 4 months or so, but am just now joining the forums. Lurking's too easy I suppose Anyways, I drive a 98 civic EX named Clyde and can manage 35 mpg through driving style, but aim to break at least 40 before I ever have to give Clyde up. Hopefully not too soon, as I recently spent $600 that didn't even fix my harsh shifting auto tranny.. But I have found a great deal on a replacement slushbox (80k for $100) coming out of a totaled 97 DX. Unfortunately, I don't fully understand the math yet as to what change I may see in FE with this tranny swap. Would a 12% decrease in RPM be correct? Any help is always appreciated, thanks, this forum is great!
