Time for a quick catch-up. Since last posting the little polo has been an immensely satisfying work horse, commuter and taxi for the kids - sadly though the Original 14 yr old exhaust (no centre break on the factory fitted ones) gave up the ghost, it sounded rather nice though! £117 lighter I now have the slightly freer-flowing version from the later SDi. The first full tank after fitting got me into the dizzy heights of 58MPGuk which was 530miles and it wasn’t even into the red on its little 10 Imp gallon tank. Considering this was a car that I’ve found out was used by an old fella to go to and from church and shopping and that’s it I’m more than happy its returning such good figure without a service, new tyres, alignment check or even a grille block! I think with a bit of basic attention it could break the 50MPGus barrier in stock trim! – maybe if I didn’t cruise everywhere on the motorway at 120km/h it would gain a bit too!
