I'd love to build a tandem two-seater a la Very Light Car and drop an Insight power plant in it with a longitudinally mounted engine. Despite being insanely overpowered, I figure with the 65lbs battery module below the front seat and two gallons of gasoline below the rear seat, you'd get 300 mi range. Or, yeah, the VW L1 is kind of the same thing, but with a different approach to lean burn. I'd buy one!
