Back to the fold.

Have not been here in a while, the neon got crunched and after doing all of the work on it, I just did not feel like starting over then.

But then I came across a "new" car that looked like fun, and it is a 4 cylinder...so the brain went to work (smell the smoke?) and I figured it would be a good commuter as well. It will never get as good as a neon or metro, but it will still get better than the pickup, and it is fun to drive.

So, the new car is a 1987 Dodge Shelby Lancer (#283 of 800). 2.2 turbo and an auto which won't help the MPG any, but I figure 30mpg average is a feasible first goal.

Plans include opening up the exhaust with a free flowing cat, changing all of the fluids to synthetic, and making the car as efficient as possible in stock form. Then lightening it and doing some aero work with the front end. Everything I do with it will be reversible to stock since it is a numbered car.

Will see how it goes. Considering stock MPG was 15/20 (17 ave) according to fueleconomy.gov.
