The original design never got beyond the original sketch and scale model ( which the designer had to fight Tucker to get paid for ).
If you've seen the movie,you'll recollect the scene in which Alex Tremulis tells Preston that he's deleted the turning fenders on the Tucker car,as a racer ( apologise for forgetting his name ) was killed during speed trials driving a car with such a setup,and he killed the idea due to safety concerns.Tucker threatens Tremulis with a pay raise.
I've GOOGLED images of the wreck,it was really bad.
