if you DECREASE voltage by DECREASING resistance the ECM will repond by
RETARDING ignition timing

which will REDUCE FE and INCREASE emissions.

these are negative temperature coefficient sensors
High resistance and high voltage = cold
low resistance and low voltage = hot
