check average mpg, with EVERYTHING else being held equal (or an honest attempt anyway) over a fixed course.
choose points x and y on your course, warm up the car well.
choose a speed for the test, say 50mph here.
wait for outside temp to stabilize and traffic to be gone.
test A:
remove magnets.
set cruise control @50,
reset the mpguino trip exactly at point x
cruise maintains 50mph
note mpg at exactly point y and record.
test B:
install magnets (and do nothing else except return to your starting point).
set cruise control @50,
reset the mpguino trip exactly at point x
cruise maintains 50mph
note mpg at exactly point y and record.
test C:
remove magnets (and do nothing else except return to your starting point).
set cruise control @50,
reset the mpguino trip exactly at point x
cruise maintains 50mph
note mpg at exactly point y and record.
report all results here.
if test A and C are not consistent, then the test is probably not valid.
if test B is not different then the magnets didn't do anything.
