Made a 70 mile run this afternoon and the panel hung on fine. Engine did not change temps from normal or overheat in 90 degree temps. Even had to stop at railroad crossing for a few minutes.
Next step is to make it stiffer, glue it on then finish it.
This techique of blocking the upper grill seems to be pretty reliable.
Need to work on my big van. Got 15.8 over 180 miles with it fully loaded without trailer this evening. Most of the trip was in rain with some it it in 40+ mph wind.
I did an estimate of my vehicle fuel usage and I spend 700 on the mini and 1700 on big van This past year. Of course that is just a fraction of what I spend on all expenses for the most part are energy related.
If I can save 5% on vehicle fuel I would save 35 dollars annually on my mini and 85 on my econoline. I had better hope for a 10% savings. If I got 30 mpg to start I would save only a fraction of that.

“Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe.
The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed.”
