Supposedly (according to people who may have an agenda of their own--being vegetarians and all that), since leather requires cows to be raised, then slaughtered, it drives the CO2 footprint of the hybrid
up. I don't personally have any proof one way or the other--it's just an assertion thrown at me whose truth I cannot immediately discern.
